Creating a new project

2 min read

The New Project page (https://app.processplot.com/new-project) in ProcessPlot is where you can set up a project, define its details, and configure key settings. This guide explains how to use the page to create projects easily.

The New Project page has two main sections: Project Details and Configuration.

This section is where you add basic information about your project:

  • Project Name: Enter a name that identifies your project. This name will be shown in the Saved Projects list (https://app.processplot.com/projects) and other parts of ProcessPlot.
  • Project Description: Write a short description of the project to explain its purpose or goals to your team.
  • Process: Use the dropdown menu to select the process workflow the project will follow. The process defines the steps the project will go through.

This section lets you set up additional details for your project:

  • Start Date: Choose the date when the project will begin. A date picker is available for quick selection.
  • Projected End Date: This is calculated automatically based on the selected process and its steps. If no process is chosen, this field will show “n/a.”
  • Daily Value: Enter the monetary value associated with the project per day. This can help you track the project’s impact over time.
  • Project Owner: Assign the project to a team member. The owner will be responsible for managing the project.
  1. Fill in the required fields under Project Details and Configuration:
    • Enter a project name and description.
    • Select a process from the dropdown menu.
    • Set a start date, daily value, and assign a project owner.
  2. Review the information to make sure it’s correct.
  3. Click the Create Project button to save the project.
    • The project will now appear in the Saved Projects list, where you can monitor and manage it.
